Walks
Rhoddlesworth Visitors Centre Trail
This was a lovely walk we did the other week, we set off from Rhoddlesworth Visitors Centre – Free Parking. It’s a walk that takes you through woodland and also by the river.
Exploring Ruins and History
You have the opportunity to have a look at some ruins of Hollinshead Hall, an old Manor House. There is a Well House Building that is locked up but you can peer through the windows. Stories say that the water was known as Holy Water.
Jubilee Tower Trail
The walk takes you through more woodland to a main road where you cross and follow the pathway up to the tower. In the fields there are horses and sheep grazing.
Spectacular Views
Follow the path until you reach the tower where you get a fabulous 360-degree panoramic view. The 86ft Tower was completed in 1898 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee.
Conclusion
The walk is nearly 5 miles with some hill climbs but all worth the effort. And to finish we ate in the Royal Arms situated next to the car park – this was a lovely friendly pub with good food and good beers.
We hope that you enjoy the walk as much as we did and Ozzy our Red Fox Labrador was a tired pooch.
