COVID-19 Update – The Shippon Luxury Holiday Let

Considering the current Covid-19 situation we have made a few changes at The Shippon Luxury Holiday Let to hopefully reassure our guests and help keep our cleaners safe.  If you have any concerns, do get in touch.

We also ask guests to ensure that they have relevant travel insurance at the time of making any bookings.

Do not travel if you or a member of your party are ill or displaying symptoms (a high temperature, new, continuous cough or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste) or if you have been told to self-isolate.  Let us know as soon as possible.

FROM 4 PM (departure 10 am remains unchanged).

Please do not arrive early.  Sometimes guests do, and this year more than ever we do not want cleaners to feel rushed.  We know you are keen to start your holiday after a long drive but I’m sure you can appreciate the reasons.  If an earlier arrival time is possible, I will contact you by text.

On arrival, guests will find the sanitised keys to the cottage in a  key safe (sanitised) at the rear of the garage.  You will receive your keycode with your arrival information email.

There will be hand sanitiser in the hallway.

For the time being, we have removed all the loose bed throws and decorative cushions.

For safety, we will remove our tourist information leaflets, books, board games and visitors’ book. Our digital guidebook is here and will be emailed to all guests. A copy will be made available on our website too. Reviews can be made online Digital Review

With regards to pots, pans, and crockery, etc –  If you have any concerns about using the equipment please rewash before using.

At the end of your stay please DO NOT strip the beds, please can you place all towels, robes including unused ones, oven gloves, and tea towels in the bath.

Empty all the bins and place in the Waste bins outside the property.

Please can you open all windows in the cottage prior to departure.

We have liaised with our cleaners and adopted cleaning practices in line with UK Hospitality Guidelines – we are using products certified to EN1276 for bacteria and EN14476 for Viruses. Steam cleaning of soft furnishings and/ or suitable spray disinfectant will be used.

All hard surfaces, door handles, light switches, remote controls need to be sanitised as well as exterior gate latches, keys, and key safe.

Cleaning products stored at a high level in the hallway cupboard please feel free to use them during your stay. Please wash your hands after handling the cleaning products.

We are not supplying disposable gloves or masks. Washing hands is the most effective thing you can do. Please feel free to use the hand wash available or if you prefer to bring your own.

We have thorough Covid-19 risk assessments in place and can provide these on request.

A cleaning checklist is used for every changeover.
