A Romantic getaway in Longridge
Day of Arrival – Friday Afternoon
Welcome to a romantic getaway at The Shippon. To make your arrival as seamless as possible, we suggest ordering your grocery shopping for delivery prior to your arrival. Our team will take care of the delivery and have it all neatly packed away for you (small charge applies).
Don’t forget to order your wine and pizza or oven meal for your evening tea. We’ll have the wine and beer chilled and ready for you upon arrival. To kick-start your romantic getaway, we recommend opting for an early check-in at 2pm (small charge applies).
Upon arrival, light the log burner and slip into the cozy robes provided. Pour yourselves a glass of wine and sink into the hot tub, taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding farmland. If you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of baby lambs or deer. After a relaxing soak, take a refreshing shower and enjoy a romantic evening, whether that’s watching TV or listening to music.
Saturday
Start your day with a romantic hike up to Longridge Fell, where you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the Ribble Valley and surrounding hills.
For lunch, head to the charming Market Town of Clitheroe and explore the local independent shops. We recommend a visit to the Holmes Mill, a former textile mill that has been beautifully converted into a brewery and food hall. You can dine in the Bowland Brewery Hall, which boasts one of the longest bars in Britain, or head to the Food Hall for a more intimate experience.
After lunch, return to The Shippon for a relaxing soak in the hot tub.
In the evening, enjoy a romantic dinner at The Derby Arms, a nearby award-winning restaurant.
Sunday
Enjoy a well-deserved lie-in, then head to The Flower Bowl Entertainment Centre, where you can choose from a variety of activities, including cinema, ten-pin bowling, golf simulators, crazy golf, and curling. For a romantic lunch, visit Owd Nells Tavern and Thatched Hamlet, located next to the canal, offering a variety of dining options.
In the afternoon, stop by The Alston, a local pub located just 0.75 miles from The Shippon, for a drink or coffee before returning to the cottage. Spend your evening soaking in the hot tub under the starry skies.
Monday
As your romantic getaway comes to an end, it’s time to pack up and head home. We hope to welcome you back soon.
