What to do on a couples weekend in Longridge

Day of Arrival – Friday Afternoon

Order you grocery shopping to be delivered before your arrival, I will then take delivery and pack it all away for you (Charge applies).

Ensure that you order the wine and pizza or oven meal for your tea. I will get the wine and beer chilled ready for you.

Arrive Friday afternoon opt for an Early Check in (Small Charge applies) 2pm.

Light the log burner and put your robes on, pour yourselves a glass of wine and go and relax in the hot tub and enjoy the delightful views overlooking farmland. If you are lucky the baby lambs may be about and also the deer. Take a shower then time to make your tea and enjoy your evening either watching TV or listening to some music and relax.

Once you are ready head up to Longridge Fell and do a lovely walk, the views are fabulous and you get to see the Ribble Valley and the lovely fells that surround us.

Lunchtime head into the Market Town of Clitheroe maybe a stroll around the local independent shops. For a spot of lunch we would recommend the Holmes Mill – Bowland Brewery a former textile mill that has been recently converted offering somewhere to relax and explore. You can either eat in the Bowland Brewery Hall One of the longest bars in Britain – 105ft 4”- is home to 42 hand pulls and hosts a minimum of 24 individual cask beers at any one time or head into the Food Hall the choice is yours.

Head back to The Shippon for an hour and jump into the hot tub to have a bit on wind down time.

In the evening we recommend to head off to The Derby Arms an award winning restaurant in walking distance offering fantastic food and ambience.

Our guests receive 20% off their food bill.

Maybe a well deserved lie in.

Later head to The Flower bowl Entertainment Centre

Here you have a choice of Cinema, Ten pin Bowling, Golf Simulators, Crazy Golf and Curling. You can also dine here or we would also suggest to go to Owd Nells Tavern and Guts Thatched Hamlet .

This is a lovely establishment located next to the canal side it has a pub style eatery plus a restaurant and Pizzeria. This does get really busy if the sun is out but it has plenty of parking and also events throughout the year.

Afternoon back towards the cottage and maybe stopping off at The Alston a local pub 0.75 miles from The Shippon for a quick drink or coffee Back to the cottage to enjoy your evening maybe in the Hot Tub looking up at the starry skies.

Unfortunately it is time to pack up and head back home. We would hope to see you again.
